Fans favorite grounded level supervillain, Wilson Wisk aka Kingpins will return to the highly anticipated and critically praised Netflix original TV series Marvel’s Daredevil. The character has been played by Vincent D’Onofrio who was the main villain in Daredevil Season 1 and by his keen acting, he already proved himself as a worthy villain for his enemy.
Later on, in season 2, he made his brief appearance in the imprisoned when Frank Castle aka the Punisher held captive. Wilson Fisk before he captured was the powerful businessman whose sole interest in the future of Hell’s Kitchen which leads him into conflict with Matt Murdock and his alter ego Daredevil.
As per the report from Deadline, EP and Marvel TV chief, Jeph Loeb had a discussion with them about Vincent’s character,
“Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk. We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson.”
Erik will be taking over as showrunner of the season 3 after Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez who were showrunners for season 2 of Daredevil and eventually took another Marvel TV project, The Defenders. But before them, Steve S. DeKnight served in the role for the season one. Previously Eric had served as executive producer and writer on Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle and was an executive producer for CW’s Arrow.
It is most likely that the third season will be inspired by the Born Again storyline where the Kingpins knows the Secret identity of Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox). Because the Defenders the last episode teases some elements of the Born Again story arc where Matt seems to be dead in the destruction of Midland circle.
Marvel has also confirmed the return of Ann Woll (Karen Page) and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) to show and both characters played a major role in the same comic storyline especially Karen Page who was responsible for revealing Matt’s identity to the Kingpin. Still, it is not confirmed yet whether they will follow the whole story arc or not, but if that happens, then Matt has absolutely no idea what future has held for him to break him even further.
