In Marvel comics, Ant-man first appears in 1979 as a Scott Lang in the Avengers #181. Since then he was in the Marvel fans eyes and after so many failed attempts finally gets on the Big-Screen and join the MCU continuity. Paul Rudd was cast as a Scott Lang in the Ant-man movie as a Hero. He was the first new character before Black Panther and Captain Marvel to join the MCU continuity and together all superheroes debuted in the last years Captain America: Civil War. But his two movies didn’t show his true comics origin, so in this article, I am going to discuss some of his unknown facts…
1. HE IS ALL IN ONE SUPERHERO
As the name suggests, he has the super abilities to shrink his body to the ant body size level or even a micro size level that we actually saw in the Ant-man movie. But if you don’t he can do a lot more than that only turning into an Ant-Man size.
Hank Pym also the Ant-Man in the Marvel universe who is the smartest being on the planet. He has superpowers other than shrinking his body to transform his body to large enough to call him as a Giant-Man. The movie version of Hank Pym is Yellowjacket who plays villain role. Another name for Giant-Man is Goliath but a little bit different for it.
2. HANK PYM IS A SKILLED SCIENTIST IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE
In the Marvel comics, he is one of the top 5 smartest people on the planet. He also successfully surpasses the Reed Richard’s sciences and Tony Starks invention, that’s why Eternity declare him the “Scientist Supreme” of the earth. Eternity is an omnipotent entity which usually represents the reality. He also saw in the Avengers team on several occasion. Most of the times, Avengers equipment repaired and enhance by Hank Pym. In the comics, he is the creator of the Ultron. He has a vast knowledge of robotics, all known levels of physics including subatomic science, artificial intelligence, and Cybernetics. He is all in one skilled scientist, unlike Bruce Banner who only specializes in only one field.
3. FATHER OF ULTRON: ANT-MAN
Thanks to Avengers: Age of Ultron to brush up our brain about the infamous villain Ultron. In the comics, he has a connection to Hank Pym. Unlike movie version, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner created him, in the comics, Hank Pym was the creator of Ultron. In the comics too Ultron was the enemy of the Avengers many times. Ultron wants to destroy the Avengers because of the Ant-Man’s flawed that created a deadly humanoid robot. Being guilty of his invention, he goes into a deep depression that led him to abuse his own wife and his traits which completely destroyed him from inside.
The MCU version of Ant-Man was released after the Avengers: Age of Ultron just to avoid the connection between the Ant-man and Ultron.
4. HIS SUB-ATOMIC LEVEL BODY SIZE
He also has the abilities to shrink his body far small that being unable to see by naked eyes. When he goes into that level, the surrounding environment completely changes. That’s what the movie shows us the Quantum realm which appears like a galaxy. Being present at that moment, he doesn’t actually know what is going on. So this ability could bring the MCU into the cosmic Marvel universe. In the comics, this is Ant-Man coolest power ever which is known as Dimension hopping which means it can open the doorway to anywhere like to Doctor Strange, Thanos or even eternity.
5. SCOTT LANG AS AN ANT-MAN
Scott Lang was a criminal who happens to be the electronic engineer. Because of his poor condition unable to support his family, he turns into the criminal. That what Marvel Movie show us. Scott Lang doesn’t possess the superpowers of Ant-Man. He actually stole Ant-Man suits from Dr. Hank Pym (First Ant-man) home to save her daughter. But being a good man, Hank Pym allow him to keep this suit for good reasons which led him to become second Ant-man.
