‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Has New Take On Spider-Gwen

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Spider-Gwen

Spider-Man‘s all-time first lover and brilliant girlfriend Gwen-Stacy is swinging into Sony’s upcoming animated film ‘Into the Spider-Verse‘ as a female superhero.

First full-length trailer of the movie shows the brief appearance of Spider-Gwen in his traditional white costume.

Unfortunately, this Stacy is not our universe’s one because, in film’s world, all Spider-Mans will come together including Mile Morales in his Ultimate Persona. (At this point we only saw Mile, Peter, and Gwen in the trailer.)

One user at Reddit has created one sketch of Spider-Gwen waving around the buildings.

You can check out below fanart of Spider-Gwen:

Like Earth-616’s Peter Parker, Earth-65’s Gwen also gets beaten by a genetically-engineered spider which granted her spider-like abilities. And thus, she started her life being as a crimefighter.

Here is the official Synopsis for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse:

In a universe where Peter Parker is dead, and a teenager with similar powers named Miles Morales decides to take on the mantle of Spider-Man. However, when a mysterious villain known as Moridun makes his way into Miles’ world, followed by an older, alive Peter Parker, the two Spider-Men must team up against a multiversal threat.

Directed by Peter Ramsey, Bob Perschietti, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse voiced by Shameik Moore as Miles Morales / Spider-Man, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy / Spider-Gwen, Jake Johnson as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Liev Schreiber as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, Lily Tomlin as May Parker.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will hit theaters on December 14, 2018.
