Might Guy is one of most influential and notable Ninja of Naruto series. However, due to his leg injuries from using “The Eight Gates” technique, he is no longer taking any missions lately.
Might Guy has no talent in ninjutsu and genjutsu. But that does not stop him from surpassing his physical abilities to no extent.
Hidden Leaf’s Blue Beast is highly skilled in taijutsu (physical attacks) even in his injured state. Thanks to his father, Master Duy, he mastered one of Forbidden Ninja technique called ” the Eight Gates” which grants him ten times more powers than that of the five Kage.
There are total eight levels in the Eight Gates technique where each gate holds significant physical strikes.
Indeed, its a most potent technique noted in the history of Naruto franchise; however, it takes a considerable amount of toll on users’ body. So without any further ado, let dig out all the powers hidden into this mightiest technique.
Note: The Eight Gate works only on specific tenketsu on a person’s Chakra Flow System. Hence by removing stoppers from these points, the user can surpass their physical limits by becoming extremely powerful. As of now, Might Duy (dead), Might Guy, Rock Lee and ultimately Metal Lee are learned to open these gates by undergoing intense training.
Here is a list of all Eight Gate Might Guys used to perform:
1. FIRST GATE: THE GATE OF OPENING
Usually, Shinobi can use 20% of their strength for combat. But activating ‘The Gate of Opening,’ they can utilize 100% body strength by removing restraints of the brain. Meaning it increases user’s strength five times their normal strength giving full access to body muscles to work at their full extent.
The first gate also has its benefit. After activating The Gate of Opening, the user can perform Front Lotus offensive attack.
During first Chunin Exam, Lee used it to defeat Sand of Gaara. Lee kicked him and went behind his back to restrain him. Then drove him in downwards direction while rotating at an enormous speed.
However, longer he stays in First Gate mode, more fatigue user becomes. Contrary, Lee was able to perform Front Lotus without any strain on his body.
2. SECOND GATE: THE GATE OF REST
Also known by the Gate of Healing, Second Gate’s tenketsu located in the brain. It imposes the user’s body to work at maximum physical strength. Additionally it also momentarily re-energizes the body.
Gate of Rest is an enhanced version of the first gate. After exhaustion from Gate of Opening, user temporary heals themselves by activating the second gate. Furthermore, it also restores the user’s 100% physical strength.
3. THIRD GATE: THE GATE OF LIFE
To perform A-rank jutsu and that is “Reverse Lotus” which is more destructive than the Front Lotus requires a third gate, i.e., Gate of Life. Tenketsu of this gate located on the spinal cord. After removing stoppage from this pressure point, All Might/Rock Lee’s blood flow gets increased tremendously turning the skin red.
Once all above three gates gets opened, user charges the target up into the air and continues to kick them at enormous speeds. The limit of the Reverse Lotus is that user gets exhausted after opening many gates at once.
4. FOURTH GATE: THE GATE OF PAIN
5. FIFTH GATE: THE GATE OF CLOSING
6. SIXTH GATE: THE GATE OF JOY
7. SEVENTH GATE: THE GATE OF SHOCK
8. EIGHTH GATE: THE GATE OF DEATH
